Description: Most clinicians know the importance of getting an accurate diagnosis to explain their patient's cognitive decline.  However, far fewer feel comfortalbe knowing how to quickly and accurately screen and/or diagnose these declines.  This presentation provides a breif overview of Alzheimer's and HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder (HAND), screening tools available for clinical use and their pros/cons, and tips for refering to neurology/neuropsychology to maximize accurate diagnosis and positive patient outcomes.
